The Journal of New Zealand Literature (JNZL) welcomes submissions on any aspect of New Zealand literature, literary history and culture.

The expected length of submitted essays is 4000–5000 words.

JNZL uses the Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA) style. (Download the MHRA Style Guide.) For a working example of JNZL house style, please see Patrick Evans, ‘“Pakeha-Style Biculturalism” and the Maori Writer, Journal of New Zealand Literature, 24 (2006), 11–35.
